5. Match Against The Shield Would Have Been Special

In 2013, it was hinted that The Shield were working on behalf of CM Punk, protecting him and his lengthy WWE Championship reign. Interfering in The Rock's title match with Punk at the Royal Rumble, the deadly trio cost him the match, but Vince McMahon - at the behest of Rocky himself - would restart the bout.

The Rock then went on to win the WWE Title from Punk, and would later defend it at WrestleMania against John Cena. The problem is, fans would have likely far preferred to see The Rock go head-to-head with The Shield in some sort of match, possibly at Elimination Chamber in February. Instead, Punk received another crack at the WWE Title, and came up short.

This was a waste, because imagine Roman Reigns had been able to go toe-to-toe with Rocky at Elimination Chamber, or The Shield had faced The Rock and partners of his choosing in a big tag match? The Shield were red hot at this point, and this would have only helped them grow, but instead The Rock faced Punk in a pedestrian effort before going on to repeat himself at 'Mania in a match fans had already seen.
