10 Biggest Mysteries Still Surrounding WrestleMania 33
3. What Will Happen With Roman Reigns?
WWE’s most reviled babyface is in an interesting spot at the moment. Now firmly out of the Universal Title picture, Roman Reigns will face-off with Braun Strowman at Fastlane next weekend. Braun has looked dominant lately, but there’s a strong chance that he was only built-up for Reigns to tear down, and the most likely outcome is either a screwy finish or a Reigns victory.
Whatever happens at Fastlane, Reigns remains unbooked for WrestleMania. The most likely scenario is that he ends-up facing The Undertaker, which, depending on Reigns’ alignment, could either be a tremendous success or a colossal failure.
If WWE persist with their stubbornness on pushing Reigns as a babyface, having him defeat 'Taker sounds like the worst idea in the world. The Deadman is still Mr. WrestleMania, and having him lose to Roman is a surefire way to get the Samoan booed out of the building. An Undertaker win, meanwhile, would do nothing for either man.
If WWE use the match as a vehicle to finally turn Roman heel, however, the booking could be a masterstroke. Reigns looked incredibly villainous after eliminating Taker from the Royal Rumble, and what better way to cement a turn than by destroying The Deadman at WrestleMania? A huge portion of fans already boo Reigns at this point. Booking such a turn would cement his status as WWE’s biggest heel.
