10 Biggest Problems Facing WWE Right Now

6. Lack Of Credible Tag Teams

There are 14 tag teams right now on the main roster across Raw and SmackDown. That number will be lessened with the impending breakups of The Mysterios and RK-Bro. There are also teams like The Hurt Business and Los Lotharios who seem to be stuck in catering or on jobber duty. Tack on the likes of Commander Azeez and Ridge Holland who act more as valets than tag partners, and the number continues to drop.

This list does not factor in that WWE only has one tag team in the women's division. Zelina Vega and Carmella are just the latest example of two women randomly thrown together purely for the sake of having Women's Tag Team Champions. They follow the pattern of Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler, Natalya and Tamina, and Rhea Ripley and Nikki A.S.H. This is all after WWE released two thirds of the Riott Squad in Ruby Riott and Sarah Logan, as well as splitting up then releasing the ultra talented IIconics.

Focusing on only the negatives to purely criticize would be wrong, though, as WWE has done an exemplary job of building up the teams of The Street Profits and more recently the Alpha Academy. This needs to be the rule when it comes to establishing tag teams, and not the exception.
