10 Biggest Problems Facing WWE Right Now

When WCW closed its doors in 2001, it left WWE with a monopoly at the top of professional wrestling. This left only one option for any wrestlers if they wanted to make it to the bigtime. WWE was the only company that could offer the worldwide audience, and enough money, to entice the best wrestlers on the planet. That meant Vince McMahon was allowed to treat his wrestlers like a child plays with toys. He could pick and choose his favourites, release the ones he no longer wanted, and forever have flavours of the month.

That has changed in recent years, as professional wrestlers now have as many options to make a living as ever before. With the rise of All Elite Wrestling, New Japan Pro Wrestling, and pay-per-view deals with a multitude of independent wrestling companies, there are now limitless possibilities. The likes of Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, and Adam Cole have chosen to let their WWE contacts expire to explore greener pastures elsewhere. Then there are the increasing amount of wrestlers who repeatedly request their release from McMahon’s clutches to prove their worth elsewhere in the wrestling business.

As the wrestling world continues to grow and evolve, there will surely be a continuous flow of top wrestlers leaving WWE until things change within the promotion.
