Though he may not look like it, Goldust is by far one of the biggest rebels in WWE history and he's definitely the most infamous. Some fans may not see him that way but the truth is that he's not just a bizarre character with voyeuristic tendencies. He is the man that rebelled against his entire career path. Dustin Rhodes was supposed to follow in his father's footsteps. He was supposed to be the next American Dream, the man that took up the mantle from Dusty and carry it forward to a new generation of fans. He looked like Dusty, he sounded like Dusty but the fact is he could not be Dusty. He had to be himself, he had to carve out his own place and he had to do what he needed to in order to get over. Dustin became Goldust not only because that was the plan for him in WWE, he did it because he was just rebellious enough to make the gimmick work. The fact that he is now as relevant as he was back during the day speaks volumes about his ability and the respect he's earned among the WWE faithful. From a character perspective, Goldust is one of the most rebellious that has ever laced up the boots. From a real world perspective, Dustin did what was needed to establish his own legacy. Either way, he is still one of the best rebels of all time.
