3. Too Many False Finishes

Pet peeve incoming in 3...2...1...

WWE - for the love of all that is holy, gather your road agents together, smack them in the head with a rolled-up newspaper, and tell them "NO MORE FINISHER KICK-OUTS! BAD! BAD AGENTS!"

The Netflix premiere really put this into stark relief. Having Liv Morgan kick out of the Riptide made absolutely zero sense from a storytelling perspective. Liv Morgan wasn't a dominant champion - she was a cowardly villain who relied on her scumbag boyfriend's assistance in almost every match. Yet in this one moment she showed more fighting spirit than every babyface on the roster who has sold the Riptide like death itself.

And as for Jey Uso kicking out of the Claymore...

Uso vs. McIntyre was by far the most throwaway match on the show, with Jey being portrayed as just one more name on McIntyre's extensive list of enemies . Letting Uso kick out of McIntyre's finish in this non-event of a match was as wasteful as opening a $500 bottle of wine to accompany a Big Mac, and left an even more unpleasant taste in the mouth (admittedly that simile only works if you believe - correctly - that Big Macs are vile).

With seemingly every wrestling company on the planet bent on wrestlers using finishers as transitional moves, it would actually help WWE step away from the pack if they told their wrestlers to follow the mantra of the late Scot Hall, a.k.a. Razor Ramon - don't use your finish unless it's the finish.
