10 Biggest Regrets From Triple H's WWE Career

9. Feuding With Scott Steiner

Triple H is very mad

Over the course of his in-ring career, Triple H worked good-to-great feuds with Batista, the Undertaker, Angle, and many more. He could usually be depended on for logical storytelling and solid ring work.

This most assuredly wasn’t the case with his 2002/3 programme against Scott Steiner. The former tag champ had left WWE a rawboned grappler and returned a chainmail clad, catchphrase-spouting freak. An inaugural programme with World Champion HHH sounded like a winner.

Instead, week upon week, Steiner and HHH competed in meaningless competitions - arm wrestling, body building, bench press - which served to suck any heat out of the feud. All this build to a match at Royal Rumble 2003 which was simply awful, with the out of form Steiner struggling and the fans quickly turning on him. They worked the match once more then gave up on it.

None of this is really the fault of Triple H, but with The Game in his Reign of Terror era, the fans weren’t too enthused about seeing him either. Steiner would leave the company and take every opportunity to slate WWE over the next two decades - though his upcoming Hall Of Fame induction means there’s hope for us all.
