10 Biggest Surprises Of Triple H's WWE So Far

1. The White Rabbit

White Rabbit
WWE

This was unlike anything WWE had ever done before. It leant heavily on the blueprint offered by AEW in the lead up to the first dance, where they implied but never stated CM Punk would be returning. It was pretty much a guarantee, but that small element of doubt created such an atmosphere that the catharsis came in trusting the process.

WWE absolutely nailed it with the white rabbit breadcrumb trail.

Playing 'White Rabbit' by Jefferson Airplane during commercial breaks wasn't just smart fiscally, but it meant the fans were sharing it online, creating their own buzz and theories. Little by little, QR codes began to sprout up on the show, all of them leading to cryptic videos that implied heavily that the 'Eater of Worlds' was coming back.

But they never confirmed it.

Lights flickered during matches. An image that looked suspiciously like the Fiend mask flashed above Alexa Bliss on one RAW. A giant white rabbit walked through the crowd and sat behind the commentary desk. Okay, that one wasn't so subtle.

As they approached Extreme Rules, WWE did get a little too blatant with it, but by then, the fans were in. The excitement had already been generated and it's hard to deny, even if you didn't like the reveal or aren't a fan of Bray Wyatt, they pulled this one off without a hitch.

It's exciting to think what other creativity is being let into creative meetings and what new things could we see down the line. But for this, WWE and Triple H deserve a pat on the back.
