10 Biggest Surprises Of Triple H's WWE So Far

7. Austin Theory's Irrelevance

It was more than obvious that in the final six months or so of Vince's creative control, he saw the future of the company in Austin Theory. Whether Theory was ready for the spot or not isn't his fault, and it's not like the former CEO was barking up the wrong tree.

Whilst not the prodigy that MJF is (and let's face it, who is?), Theory is still so young, and where he is compared to his experience level is impressive. He looks great, isn't too shoddy on the mic and has a decent moveset. There's clearly work to be done - a lot if they think he's ready for the main belt - but since Triple H took over, the current Money in the Bank holder has dropped down the pecking order pretty swiftly.

Although WWE has almost always used the briefcase as a shield to allow wrestlers to swallow defeat after defeat, there seems something pretty deliberate of how Triple H has positioned the former WWE United States Champion, especially after his pretty swift defeat to Johnny Gargano this past week.

It's surprising, as while many could see it as the Cerebral Assassin just ripping down what Vince was building, it's worth remembering that The Game himself personally recruited Theory to NXT and heaped a ton of praise on the lad. Hopefully, he will be given the right opportunities to fulfil his potential, but right now, he feels like an afterthought.
