10 Biggest Surprises Of Triple H's WWE So Far

6. Tommaso Ciampa's Backseat Role

Many people speculated what changes Triple H would make right off the bat, and as many speculated, promoting Tommaso Ciampa as a prominent star on RAW would be one of them. Instantly, Ciampa had the best night of his main roster run, winning a triple threat match and then defeating AJ Styles in the main event to earn a shot at Bobby Lashley's WWE United States Championship.

It looked to the world like the new Head of Creative was going to lay his marker down by promoting one of his guys to a top spot, and the following week, Ciampa cut an impassioned promo about his love and respect for Harley Race and his legacy with the US Title.

A title switch seemed certain.

Then he lost. And... well, that's sort of been it, hasn't it?

Whilst there is no shame in losing to the man mountain that is the 'All Mighty', many expected the former two-time NXT Champion to be one of Triple H's main men on the Raw, but since then, he has taken a back seat to the inexplicably popular (and long) feud between The Miz and Dexter Lumis.

There was a teased split between the 'Psycho Killer' and the 'A-Lister', but that seems to have been put on the back burner, too. There's no doubting that the 'King of Kings' knows Ciampa's value, but it's pretty surprising that he's still nothing more than The Miz's lackey.
