10 Biggest Talking Points From WWE SmackDown (Aug 16)
4. The Return Of The Spoiler?
At the top of the hour, WWE Champion Dean Ambrose was in action against Erick Rowan. Ambrose scored the victory with the Dirty Deeds, but with all due respect to the competitors involved, Bray Wyatt was the real story here.
Prior to the bout, when Wyatt and Rowan made their entrance, Randy Orton was still in the ring. Orton and Wyatt crossed paths on the ramp and had a staredown, which could easily be building to a future feud between the two. Honestly, Orton versus Wyatt is fresh and there's no reason not to do it after SummerSlam.
The problem, though, is the chance that WWE might have Wyatt play into the Orton-Lesnar bout. They've done a great job of building up that match, and nobody wants to see a fishy finish. Still, Wyatt's ruined bouts like that before, and it's well within established characterisation for him to do it again. Let's hope cooler heads prevail.
Also of note: Wyatt walked out on Rowan after the loss to Ambrose. The Wyatt Family may finally be finished... at least for a few months.
