10 Biggest Unsung Heroes Of WWE's Current Era
4. Timothy Thatcher
Poor Timothy Thatcher. His big debut for a major promotion happened with absolutely no fans, which is a shame since a Full Sail crowd would have gone crazy for the intense technician. His heel turn and performance in the fantastic Fight Pit match seemed to promise greatness, as he made his mark in the company through sadistic offence and relentless brutality.
Unfortunately, Thatcher has been relegated to the midcard, becoming someone that takes frequent losses and is increasingly becoming a performer who exists to get others over. While he deserves better as one of the best wrestlers in NXT who would be capable of carrying any division, Thatcher has only excelled since coming to the black and yellow brand.
He had a great match with Finn Balor at TakeOver 30, where he got to showcase his immaculate mat work and psychological storytelling for 13 minutes. Most importantly, he put on one of NXT’s matches of the year with current North American champion Damian Priest, an underrated banger that fans will consider a hidden gem for years to come.
Thatcher might not be getting the push or recognition he deserves right now, but the company is far worse off without him.
