Tony Ferguson's 12-fight win streak began with a win against Mike Rio at UFC 166 in 2013, and El Cucuy subsequently went on a tear after that brutal first round submission victory.

Of course, what makes Ferguson's 12-fight streak even more interesting is that it's still currently active.

Ferguson last competed at this June's UFC 238, scoring a TKO victory over 'Cowboy' Donald Cerrone, and now the winner of The Ultimate Fighter 13 finds himself #2 in the lightweight rankings - with both UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and interim Lightweight Champ Dustin Poirier in Ferguson's sights as he looks to extended his remarkable winning streak.

Khabib and Poirier are due for a unification bout on September 7th, and Tony Ferguson will prove a tough task for either fighter to put a stop to when he finally gets a shot to get the gold back.

Of course, Ferguson did defeat submit Kevin Lee last October to become interim Lightweight Champion before he had to vacate the belt due to injury.
