10 Biggest Winners & Losers From WWE Backlash 2018
1. Winner: Seth Rollins
Burn It Down is as apropos a catchphrase for Seth Rollins as there is because The Kingslayer did not just steal the show from the opening match, he burnt the damn thing to the ground, courtesy of another stellar performance in his victory over The Miz.
The intercontinental champion continued his red-hot roll, delivering a performance that essentially cemented any claim he had to being the best wrestler in WWE thus far in 2018. He was crisp, fast and on-target with all of his spots. His selling of Miz's attack on his knee was, for the most part, superb and added drama to many of the contest's near-falls and false finishes.
By the time he escaped a roll-up attempt and planted Miz's face in the mat with his curb stomp finisher, it was safe to say Rollins had accomplished what he hoped by establishing himself as the best champion in WWE.
In the midst of what is arguably the hottest streak of his career, Rollins is turning in performances that will ultimately make it impossible for management to ignore him. In many ways, he has developed into the Bret Hart to Roman Reigns' Lex Luger. He is the fans' choice, the best wrestler on the roster and a Superstar management will not be able to ignore as long as he continues to have the best match on the card every night.
