Dolph Ziggler isn't finished. He might be pushing 40, but he's still a good athlete, a solid worker, and a capable talker when given the right material. There is absolutely still a role for him in 2019's WWE.

But this ain't it, chief.

It's impossible to receive Dolph as a hot-shotted main eventer because he hasn't been booked like one for years. Yes, he had a WWE Championship programme with Dean Ambrose in 2017, but there wasn't a single point where he felt like a serious threat. The same is true in 2019, when he's locking horns with Kofi Kingston, p*ssing and moaning about how the current WWE Champion's rapid spring ascension "should have been me!"

You can't throw a guy who's been booked like an also-ran loser for the best part of a decade into a WWE Title feud with no build. This is largely why Ziggler vs. Kingston has flopped, though Dolph's overwrought, hammy delivery on his faux-passionate promos hasn't helped either. The guy has been miscast, and WWE should consider themselves fortunate that Kingston is on a hot streak: otherwise, this rotten feud may have tanked his fantastic 2019.
