9. John Cena vs Shawn Michaels - Raw, 23rd April 2007
The main event of WrestleMania 23 saw John Cena force Shawn Michaels to tap out en route to defending his WWE Championship. It was a monumental piece of booking, one which solidified Cena as an all-time great as opposed to merely the biggest star of his generation. Their rematch was an innocuous one in comparison, at least until the opening bell. Benefitting from almost an hour-long timeslot and a rabid English crowd, the pair tore the house down in a match widely considered one of the best free TV bouts in WWE history. In the end HBK was able to avenge his 'Mania loss, nailing Cena with a Sweet Chin Music to finally put him down for the three count.
