It had been over a decade since the Dudley Boyz last appeared together in WWE when they made their triumphant Monday Night Raw return in August 2015.

And they had been sorely missed in the interim, during which time fans had watched the once-great tag divison of which they were the trailblazers become a launch-pad for mid-card singles stars.

As for Bubba and Devon, they spent those ten years competing in TNA, where the former - under "Bully Ray" - achieved success in his own right. So it wasn't as though they had been completely off the radar.

Yet the crowd reacted as though we hadn't seen hide nor hair of them for an age when they came out to confront the New Day, a run that was - with hindsight - all too short-lived.
