Speaking of Flair's all-too-brief time in the WWF, his two-year stint in the early 1990s resulted in one of the most intense WCW vs WWF clashes of all time. The Nature Boy's arrival was one of the most exciting the wrestling world had ever seen, as he brought with him the Big Gold Belt - recognised at the time as a sign of the WCW Champion. A disagreement had resulted in Flair never receiving a $25,000 deposit he paid upon first becoming champion, so he paraded it on WWF television declaring himself "the real world champion". By all means, this should have led to a dream unification match with WWF Champion Hulk Hogan. For various reasons, the feud never took place (some sources stating that Vince didn't enjoy trial-runs of the match at house shows) and Flair instead had to wait until the title was vacated to capture it at the 1992 Royal Rumble. His feud with the Macho Man, a WWF superstar to the core, was an intense clash of personalities and styles, and resulted in a thrilling encounter at WrestleMania 8.
