Flair's arrival in the WWF - after almost a decade with their competition - coincided with the end of the Invasion angle. Claiming to have bought the defeated Alliance's stock in the company, he entered into a feud with Vince McMahon in order to secure co-ownership. It was a mammoth clash, and the fans recognised it as such; the elusive mega-star of the 1990s, whom Vince never truly brought into the WWF fold for any meaningful amount of time, was finally facing off against the man he could have made a lot of money. Although an ageing pair, the two fought an absolutely brutal match under Street Fight rules at the 2002 Royal Rumble. Ric subjected himself to a brutal bladejob (and was subsequently paraded by Vince in front of his own children) en-route to a crowd pleasing victory. Following the end of the co-ownership storyline, Flair found a niche as the wily veteran of Triple H's Evolution stable, before enjoying one of the most emotional send-offs in the history of wrestling at 'Mania 24. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4w5kr_royal-rumble-2002-ric-flair-vs-mr-m_sport
