10 Bizarre Times Wrestlers Experimented With Their Look

Cody admitted he was a little disappointed when nobody picked up what he was putting down in 2020 when he returned from a Brodie Lee battering with a much darker over all look.

Discussing the switch from blonde hair to black along with ditching summer suits for darker tones during an AEW Q&A video, the former TNT Champion said;

“Blondes have more fun, and nobody got it when I dyed my hair black. It was a play on Death of Superman, he had the mullet, he had a change, he had a different outfit — nobody got it.”

While most people appeared to miss the Death Of Superman element, everybody got the gist of the change. Especially when Cody summoned a far darker energy to reclaim the prize from Lee in a grisly dog collar rematch. He shifted back before the year was through, but it was a typically unique commitment to the bit from a performer that's never been afraid of taking a few bold chances with his character.
