10 Booking Steps For WWE Raw (March 7)

4. Shane McMahon Refutes Vince McMahon's Claims And Goads 'Taker

Shane McMahon has been advertised to appear on the coming edition of Raw, and it appears he's set to deliver a harsh rebuttal to promos cut by both Stephanie and Vince McMahon on last week's show. The Undertaker's appearance didn't really further the story as such, so it's up to Shane to carry that burden and push things forward. WWE are in a tough place when it comes to 'Taker, because he's unlikely to appear on every episode of Raw from now until WrestleMania. That poses a problem, because he may be needed in order to effectively hype the Hell In A Cell encounter he's set for against Shane. For the time being, it looks like the story will focus on Shane vs. Vince and Steph, rather than Undertaker. Last week, Vince assessed that Shane had no chance of defeating 'The Phenom', and even threatened to renounce him as his son. The situation wasn't greeted with as big a reaction from fans as McMahon may have liked, so Shane should hammer the point home that he is ashamed of his dad. Simultaneously, he also needs to shift focus onto facing Undertaker, perhaps even claiming his rival is afraid he may be beaten. Undertaker may need to show vulnerability if the match is going to be believable.
