10 Booking Steps For WWE Raw (May 30)

4. Rusev Defeats Titus O'Neil

As popular as Titus O'Neil is with some fans, he's hardly a top level performer. Inside the ring, he's decent, but he's more of a jobber to the stars than anything else. There's no shame in that, but he's not a realistic long-term challenger for Rusev's newly won WWE United States Title.

On SmackDown, O'Neil helped Kalisto survive a beating at the hands of the Bulgarian. This provides the chance to have Titus and Rusev collide on Monday Night Raw, it would certainly be an entertaining match if handled properly. Patriotism was out in force on SmackDown, so it makes sense to suspect the 'USA' chants would be on display come Raw.

Naturally, O'Neil coming up just short of winning the gold makes the most sense. Rusev can't drop the belt just yet, he's a fresh face with the title and has just regained some momentum. Defeating Titus could pave the way to a much more meaningful feud, one that also heralds a much-hyped return in the very next segment on the show.
