10 Booking Steps For WWE's Road To WrestleMania 41

7. CM Punk Wins The Men’s Chamber

Again, at time of writing it's only John Cena and CM Punk who have been locked in for the men's Elimination Chamber match in March. Those legends will be joined by four other wrestlers dreaming of winning the thing in front of a passionate Toronto crowd then heading to that guaranteed title match at WrestleMania 41. Logically, it's Cena or Punk who takes the win.

This writer's choice would be ye olde 'Voice Of The Voiceless'.

There was magic in the air when Punk went face to face with Cody Rhodes on a recent edition of flagship show Raw. People were invested, WWE's cameras zoomed in to capture their respective stony facial expressions, and Cody even found time to be rather smug (that's something he does very, very well whilst still maintaining babyface dignity on the whole) about Punk's chances of winning the Rumble then headlining the biggest show of the year.

That doubt is something Punk can shove back in Cody's face when he wins the Chamber bout then announces that he's challenging for the WWE Title at 'Mania 41. This leaves Cena out of the title picture, of course, but more on that later. Triple H has to juggle a lot of big stars here, and something about Cody vs. Punk just feels right.

Fan reactions would be delicately poised. Rhodes has done a bang up job as top babyface for years now, but that can't last forever. WWE crowds may side with returning hero Punk due to the ticking clock on his chances of becoming WWE Champion for the first time in well over a decade.
