10 British MMA Stars You Need To Know

2. Darren Till

Liverpool's own Darren Till must be on pretty much every MMA fan's radar at this point. So, we're going to use this entry to explain exactly why he's being touted as one of the UFC's next big breakout stars.

Spending the majority of his early amateur career in Brazil, he turned pro in 2013 and went on to fight 13 times in his first two years in the world of MMA.

Till laid waste to all who stood in his way before signing for the UFC and continued his undefeated streak when he arrived in the company by adding names like Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone and Stephen 'Wonderboy' Thompson to his list of scalps.

The Muay Thai specialist - who also holds a purple belt in Luta Livre - hit a few roadblocks, however, when he fell to Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley and the man of the hour himself, Jorge Masvidal. Yet, Till managed to bounce back with a split decision victory over Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 244 in his UFC Middleweight bow and now looks well positioned to challenge for the Middleweight title in the coming year or so.

Despite his dip in form, Till still has what it takes to become arguably the greatest British star in UFC history and if they weren't already, you need to keep your eyes on this Scouse sensation.
