10 Brutal Wrestling Moments To Show Non-Fans

5. Randy Orton's Back Becomes A Pin Cushion

To this day, Mick Foley considers his match against Randy Orton at Backlash 2004 to be one of his greatest. Alongside a bout opposite Shawn Michaels from In Your House: Mind Games in 1996, Foley believes he was truly at his best during the pay-per-view. Few would argue that his hardcore match for the WWE Intercontinental Title was very impressive. Of course, both Foley and Orton used some 'shortcuts' to pad out the 20-minute bout, but that almost makes it sound like they had it easy. Watching the match makes it clear that they didn't, both men worked incredibly hard and put their bodies through an awful lot of pain to deliver the bout. One of the most striking moments came when Orton went for an RKO, only to land flush on hundreds of drawing pins. The tacks, which were all over his body, punctured his skin. Show someone who isn't familiar with WWE before going PG this kind of thing and they're likely to lose their lunch. Some may even try to claim that the pins aren't real, but the blood seeping out of Orton's back and arms would suggest otherwise. His reaction isn't selling, it's genuine shock.
