6. Could Tag Match Be Surprise Of Show?

In an era where multi-man (and woman) matches seem to be the norm to get more wrestlers on the card, it’s interesting that the Backlash card consists of all singles bouts, save for one tag match – and it doesn’t feature either brand’s tag champs.

The match between Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn versus Bobby Lashley and Braun Strowman features an odd pairing of two monster singles wrestlers in what could be termed a throwaway match. Owens and Zayn have been dynamite as jerk heels who disrupt things, while Strowman has been a super utility man in recent months, filling any role WWE needs.

The odd man here is the newly returned Lashley, who has all the credentials to be a main-event player on Raw, but has been kept in a supporting (but highly visible) role so far. Lashley and Strowman have teamed up recently, so this could be a fun match, and if all four work hard, this could steal the show.

Or it could be dull and not really click because there are no real stake involved here. But let’s remain optimistic given the wrestlers involved.
