10 Burning Questions For WWE Backlash 2018

5. What Closes The Show?

This is the age-old question that gets raised from time to time: What is the main event of the PPV?

Without the Universal Championship or a signature match taking place, the question is somewhat open. There really are only two possibilities, though you could argue that Daniel Bryan’s first singles PPV match in three-plus years deserves consideration.

But really, this comes down to the WWE Championship match between AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura, and the grudge match between Roman Reigns and Samoa Joe.

On paper, you’d think the 55-year-old WWE title being defended should close out the night. But WWE’s never-ending love affair with Reigns, coupled with the fact that this Roman/Joe feud actually is pretty hot, could result in that bout going on last. It will depend on what happens with each match that determines where they fall on the card.
