10 Burning Questions For WWE Raw (Aug 1)

2. Will Roman Continue To Bottom Out?

Last week was arguably one of the worst in Roman Reigns’ run as a top guy in WWE. The three-time former world champion ate the pinfall in the much-anticipated triple threat between former Shield members, then he fell to Raw newcomer Finn Balor in a match to determine a new top contender for the newly created WWE Universal Championship. All of that came after serving a 30-day suspension for violating WWE’s wellness policy.

Just like that, Reigns has gone from the top of the mountain to the proverbial scrapheap. Granted, that might be a very temporary demotion for Roman, but it still is noteworthy, nonetheless. And it raises the question, with SummerSlam just three weeks away, what will Reigns be doing for the biggest PPV of the summer? Will he begin to rebuild his character, or has he not yet hit rock bottom?

It’ll be interesting to see Monday how Roman is booked. If he fights – and defeats – a high-level opponent like Cesaro or Kevin Owens, then we’ll know he’s back on the mend. But if he falls to someone like that, Reigns’ redemption story might be a little further off.
