So, welcome back to the midcard, Roman Reigns. Please try not to mess it up while you’re there.

After a disappointing turn as a top guy in WWE, Reigns clearly has been shuttled back down the card, stepping up to confront United States Champion Rusev last week after the Bulgarian Brute bragged about how no one could beat him. Unfortunately, Rusev has been resurgent in recent months, overcoming a jobber run with the League of Nations to look like the killer he was during his debut year.

In some ways, you almost felt like Rusev was being rebuilt as a dominant heel, and seeing Roman come out last week just deflated that balloon. You have to wonder if the Bulgarian Brute will be sacrificed to the ongoing project that is Roman Reigns. But first, we have to see what happens Monday between the two, whether Roman will step up to Rusev, or if the U.S. champ will strike first.
