10 Challengers For NXT Championship After TakeOver: Chicago

7. Adam Cole

Bobby Roode NXT
Oli Sandler / The Ringside Perspective

Adam Cole's exit from The Bullet Club has been the talk of the independent wrestling world, with many speculating his NXT debut is imminent. Though this is all speculation at the moment, Adam Cole could make a huge impact upon arrival in Full Sail.

Cole has a huge following from his indie work, with swathes of adoration despite his despicable heel persona. Being a known commodity in wrestling allows talent to step onto the NXT stage with a bang, just as former champions Shinsuke Nakamura, Kevin Owens, and Samoa Joe did. What better way to introduce Cole to the greater wrestling world than by having him enter straight into a programme with NXT Champion Bobby Roode?

Capitalising on the hype surrounding Cole and his indie endeavours would be a savvy move on WWE's part. The three time Ring of Honor World Champion has proven he can represent a brand, so even if he doesn't immediately step into the NXT Title picture, you can bet it'll be in his sights from the moment he debuts.
