10 Changes To Make WWE Smackdown's Thursday Move Successful
3. Create A Gimmick Title Exclusive To Thursdays
Creating a title that will be exclusive to Thursdays is a dynamite way to build a following for the Smackdown brand. It gives them something that you know every week you will not see on Monday Night Raw, while also adding a little variety to the monotonous way the WWE presents their brand of entertainment. The question becomes what title should be exclusive to Smackdown? Here are 3 options: The Cruiserweight Title (Retired in 2008) - This title will be brought back to life and all the WWE Superstars under 225 pounds will vie for it. The matches will be fast paced and full of aerial maneuvers as people try to win the prestigious championship. The only problem is that having this title may pigeon-hole anybody under 225 pounds to simply being cruiser weights, which is not ideal. The Hardcore Title (Retired in 2002) - This title was always fun and recently won a WWE.com poll of which retired title fans would like to see come back. Furthermore, the defended 24-7 gimmick would lend itself to a Wild West feel if the WWE were to go that route to make Smackdown feel different than Raw. Once Smackdown begins, its a free for all and anybody can go after the Hardcore Champ until the show closes at 10 pm. Minis Championship - This makes the most sense, considering that the WWE has the talented Torito under contract with absolutely nothing to do or fight for. Introducing a serious minis division that isnt simply played for comedy would be a fantastic way to showcase Torito and other talented and athletic mini-wrestlers.
