6. Adam Pearce Takes Control (But Not Really)

There was a time when Adam Pearce's only real gig in WWE had him rush into view when wrestlers had been attacked and call for medics. Somehow, creative transitioned out of that into a fully-fledged authority figure role, and that's something nobody could've seen coming.

Also, Pearce has never been officially made official as a "WWE official". Just saying. He started showing up as Vince McMahon's errand boy, then took the reins as lead authority on Raw and SmackDown. Everyone from wrestlers to announcers is real careful not to call him a General Manager during backstage bantering too.

He's not a GM - he's a "WWE official". What's the difference?

Pearce splits duties with Sonya Deville on TV these days, but neither character's full control has ever been explained. Meanwhile, McMahon still appears in segments with Austin Theory and makes matches during those. It's all over the place, and could've been remedied by even one short promo passing the torch.
