10 Classic WrestleMania Moments (WWE Won’t Ever Brag About)
5. Sable's Debutante Ball
Stephanie McMahon invented women's wrestling in 2015, and we should be bloody grateful for it, Manami Toyo-ta very much.
The upshot?
With the exception of this year's first-ever Women's Royal Rumble match, in which the relatively terrible Divas of yesteryear were glorified when it became apparent that there weren't close to enough full-time females on the roster to compete in it, everything prior to her grand gesture is written off as a dark and tawdry age.
Since The Fabulous Moolah apparently blazed the trail for the wrestling ladies of North America, the only slightly less inferior worker that is Sable is now synonymous with the T&A era WWE must leave behind in order to promote the Women's Evolution as something we needed to evolve from. That's a shame, since she was major part of the commercial and artistic triumph that was WrestleMania XIV. Sable was a major draw and a better performer than she is often credited as, compensating for her lack of natural athleticism and in-ring experience with fiery and credible character work received rapturously by an audience in admiration of an astonishing accomplishment, as well as her assets.
