10 Compelling Contenders For John Cena's US Title Open Challenges

7. Adam Rose

This is a bizarre name to include, but Adam Rose is criminally under-utilized. The gimmick could be totally great. He could be a megalomaniac, indulgence addicted, party loving pied piper with a sea of brainwashed sycophants hanging off of his every word. That character would be the epitome of villainy in the current WWE landscape. Adam Rose could be Aldous Snow turned up to 100. He could be a weird, effeminate, and obsessive comic book style foil to the heroes in the WWE Universe, and what better way to get him started down the right path, than by having a respectable showing in a match against John Cena.

Adam Rose should come out one of these weeks with his party in tow, and when John expects him to answer the challenge, Adam Rose instead extends John Cena and invitation to one of his parties. The next week, after John Cena successfully defends his title, Adam Rose and the Rosebuds interrupt his celebration to party with him in the ring. Cena will go to leave and not loving the idea of rejection, Rose could sick his Rosebuds on an unsuspecting Cena, setting up Rose answering the challenge the following week. Rose would come close, with help from his loyal minions, but would end up coming short. Despite not winning, a good showing will establish Adam Rose as a worthwhile competitor, and the angle will help him tap into the true potential that the character has. There’s plenty of room on Rosebud Island if you want to start buying stock now.
