10 Completely UNHINGED Moments From WWE Video Games

8. Steven Richards Headlines WrestleMania (WWF No Mercy)

Big Show had been banished to a weight loss camp by the time WWF No Mercy slammed onto store shelves in November 2000. Thus, one of the biggest stars in the company was totally absent from the roster lineup for a cherished end product that's still fondly remembered (and replayed) today. Bit of a bummer, that.

Things get even worse when diving into the game's story mode.

Y'see, THQ needed someone to replace Show for the four-way headliner at WrestleMania 2000. Hmm, let's see. Who could they choose? Chris Jericho, Kane, Kurt Angle, The Undertaker? All viable options who were on-disc, but nah - the devs put Steven Richards of Right To Censor fame in there instead. That's a record-halting scratch moment on, 'Dig-Dig-Diggity Dig-Diggity Dog' for sure.

People didn't make a big fuss over this at the time, but that's maybe because Twitter/X didn't exist back then. Imagine the uproar these days if WWE 2K25 released next year and 2K subbed The Rock out of 'Mania 40's tag in favour of JD McDonagh? No offence intended to the Judgment Day man, of course.
