A good deal for Kiss, and a terrible deal for both WCW and the fans glam rock mainstays Kiss made an appearance on Nitro playing their song God Of Thunder, and debuting a new WCW star-in-the-making, The Kiss Demon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7SuBNWvG1Q Eric Bischoff was a well-known Kiss fanboy. You might say he was a mark for the band and it showed here, Kiss reputedly being paid a cool half a million dollars for this brief appearance, as well as having it within their contract that their personally branded wrestler would wrestle in main event matches. Sadly, Bischoff chose to debut the character during the songs performance, which came at the end of the show in the main event spot. Assured of no more wrestling that night, fans tuned out in droves, earning that weeks Nitro one of the lowest ratings of the Monday Night Wars. The Demon character lost his first match against Terry Funk, and soon faded into the midcard, then ridiculous comedy matches. Bischoff fared worse this was the final straw, and it wasnt long before he was relieved of his duties.
