We’ve already covered some epic ladder moments on this list so far, but few can compare to the blend of carnage and creativity that was produced by the first-ever TLC bout from SummerSlam 2000.

During a golden period of tag team wrestling, Edge & Christian faced off against the Hardy Boys and the Dudley Boys with their Tag Team titles literally up for grabs. And while we’d seen these three duos do battle before, never before had it been quite like this.

But it wasn’t just a gratuitous excuse for mayhem—the decision to combine tables with ladders with chairs was based on the strengths of each team; Edge and Christian were masters of the Con-chair-to, The Hardys were ladder specialists and we all know about The Dudleys' history with tables.

By the end of it all, I think all three teams were equally adept with each weapon. A few of the many highlights included Jeff’s Swanton from the top of a ladder and through a table on the outside, Matt’s backwards tumble off the top of a ladder through two tables at ringside before Bubba Ray trumped that with a titanic fall through four tables stacked far away on the entrance aisle.

The fact that they did the exact same rematch at WrestleMania X-Seven just a few months later, and would eventually spawn an entire PPV dedicated exclsuviely to this match-type, tells you just how incredible this first TLC offering really was.
