10 Craziest Things That Ever Happened After WWE Raw Went Off The Air
1. Phone A Friend
It would have made for the most unlikely of returns to Monday Night Raw had CM Punk answered his call... or Rock answered Punk's callback when the two played telephone tag in 2017.
Gleefully doing whatever the f*ck he liked as normal, The Rock returned to the flagship show after the February 20th episode had concluded to whip the crowd into the sort of frenzy that would shine on a silver screen. Working on a movie based on the life of WWE Superstar Paige, Rock's movie production crew were shooting the scene in which her character first won the WWE Divas title and used the pre-staged location to generate a suitably electrified live atmosphere.
To this end, Rock called Punk in the hope that the 'Straight Edge Superstar' would (indirectly) speak down a WWE microphone for the first time in three years. Their missed calls to one another sadly rendered the moment a touch moot, but the legitimate excitement stirred up from the near-miss was typical of Rock's dynamic crowd control.
The story was huge in wrestling circles in the days that followed, generating plenty of added buzz for the movie too. He didn't label himself 'The Great One' for nothing.
