9. On A Military Base

Starting back in 2003, WWE introduced its own special way to pay tribute to the troops fighting overseas. Instead of just sending a few heart-felt message to soldiers away from home, Vince McMahon decided to fly out a large portion of his roster to perform for personnel based in everywhere from Iraq to Afghanistan.

The end results were about as patriotic as you'd expect.

Babyfaces would regularly triumph over despised heels, with the former usually donning red, white, and blue gear or even military attire whilst dishing out an ass whooping. And this entire event played out in the middle of a scorching environment, usually in the middle of a desert, while a grateful bunch of troops at ringside roared their appreciation for those putting on a show for them in the hostile location.

In recent times, the Tribute to the Troops specials have been produced more domestically, with the latest iteration of the event, outside of 2020's ThunderDome version, going down in Jacksonville inside of both the Marine Corps Air Station New River and Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune.
