Yes, this was an impossibility whipped up in the mind of a man who just can't let the spotlight go. Ric told listeners on his podcast in early-June that he wanted to "take the bumps" for Vince in a SummerSlam blockbuster, and even claimed fans would "go crazy" if he bladed for the Vin-man.
Flair was deadly serious about all of this. He'd go on to work his "final match" as part of the Starrcast celebrations in late-July, but has already been talking about working in-ring again. Nobody needs to even think about what a bout between Ric and Vince would look like in 2022.
