10 Crazy WWE Royal Rumble 2020 Theories You Need To Hear

4. Ricochet To Win The Men's Royal Rumble Match

The go-home edition of Raw saw Ricochet be the one to boldly confront Brock Lesnar. The act was designed to show that the former NXT North American Champion wasn't afraid of the WWE champ and was confident in his own chances of winning the men's Royal Rumble.

Unfortunately for the One and Only, he was left lying in a heap after he was swiftly kicked in the nuts by Paul Heyman's Beast.

For Ricochet, this was an absolutely horrendous look. To confront Brock? Great. To talk up how he risks his life on a nightly basis? Fantastic. To end all of this by being punked out by a d*ck kick? Awful.

Maybe it's giving WWE creative a little too much credit here, but you'd like to think that they have plans for this Raw segment to lead to something more down the line rather than simply taking all of the air out of one of the Raw brand's most popular acts.

Unless there was some forward planning, it would seem absolutely ridiculous to throw Ricochet out there to look like a total chump. As such, the high-flyer could be a great outside bet to win the men's Royal Rumble match.

It feels like forever since we were given a genuinely surprising winner of a Royal Rumble match. With Ricochet, not only would that be a massive shock, but it would also set up the sort of David vs. Goliath match with Brock in which Lesnar so often thrives.

Not to mention, the seeds for this can even be traced back to Ricochet and Lesnar ever so briefly crossing paths on an episode of Raw from late last year.
