Dexter Lumis is a character committed to creepiness. Every action he performs on-screen is designed to unnerve viewers. Despite him being over as a face, his creepy side has only become more pronounced.

Though Lumis’ attire is street clothes, eyes are drawn to his black gloves. They invoke the nagging suspicion that he is about to do something that he doesn’t want his fingerprints to be associated with. Lumis has the best death stare in the business, drawing you in with his pale blue eyes before his intense pupils drill into you. He slithers around the ring, with the dead face of a psychopath, stalking his opponents, preparing to dispense sadistic violence.

Adding further to the eerie gimmick, Lumis became known as NXT’s “tortured artist”. He often forgoes words to draw bizarre caricatures, the kind you get at a fairground. However, they are stripped of their light-hearted quirkiness depicting such subjects as kidnap and a zombie referee chowing down on an arm.

Little is known about Lumis outside of the ring. However, his sinister actions convey the gimmick in a way many of the roster couldn’t do even with weekly sprawling promos.
