There were tears in Batista's eyes when he defeated Triple H to win the World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania 21. The match was signed during a tremendous segment on Raw, during which Batista mimicked the thumbs down gesture that had been used when Orton was exiled from Evolution. Fans went crazy when 'The Animal' battered both Triple H and Ric Flair. This was a real coming-of-age match for Batista. The main event of WrestleMania isn't just given to any wrestler, they have to be someone WWE really believes in. If they flop on the grand stage, it's unlikely they will ever be given another chance to impress in the headline bout. Cheerfully, Batista didn't just avoid being rotten, he excelled against Triple H in a fantastic collision. Going just over 20 minutes, the pair gave fans that big pop to close out the show. Batista celebrated with the World Heavyweight Title, and he was finally at the top of the mountain. Almost 3 years on from his main roster debut, 'Big Dave' was in the hot seat. Better yet, he really deserved to be there.
