It's safe to say that the past six months or so haven't been too kind to All Elite Wrestling.
Backstage mayhem has rendered the once 'All Friends Wrestling' as a chaotic, political wildfire that has seriously hindered the company both on and off screen. Title belts have had to be vacated. Legal battles are reportedly pending. Wrestlers have been suspended for fighting. It hasn't been great.
One thing, however, that has been, is Jon Moxley.
Throughout the stormy surroundings, Moxley has been there to steady ship, showing what a smooth sailor he is. When the company have needed someone, anyone, to be a rock for the fans and the locker room to cling to, the current AEW World Champion has been there.
He's the most relatable guy in wrestling, often looking at the chaos with the sneer of a disappointed dad, and what was technically a 'Rah-Rah' speech in the aftermath of the All Out nonsense could easily go down as the promo of the year.
The man, evidently, is willing to bleed for the company and the business, and every time he picks up the microphone, you can feel that in every word he speaks. Sure, sometimes his one-liners are a little corny, but has the badass swagger of an '80s action hero to pull it off.
The promo Mox cut when he returned from rehab, is one of the most genuine you will ever hear in this business.
