10 Current MMA Fighters Who Could Jump To Professional Wrestling

2. Colby Covington

It's one of the worst kept secrets in MMA that the Colby Covington we see on TV is a carefully crafted gimmick that was designed to save Covington's job with the UFC. Despite a winning record, Covington was nearly axed from the UFC because he wasn't putting enough butts in seats.

Fans don't pay to see the good guy win. They pay to see the bad guy lose. Covington donned a cheap suit, MAGA hat, and became the bad guy of UFC. Along with the new gimmick, Covington has also continued to amass wins in the octagon, carrying a record of 17-3.

Covington has already dipped his toes into the pro wrestling waters. He appeared for IMPACT Wrestling several times in 2017 and at a WrestlePro event in 2018. Colby is still in the UFC title picture, winning his last match against former champion Jorge Masvidal.

When the time comes, all he needs to do is show up in that suit and hat, raise his hands in the air and soak up the BOOOOOs.

Fantasy Match: Colby Covington vs. Cody Rhodes in a stipulation flag match. An American flag is posted on opposing buckles, and the winner is the man who captures and raises the opposing man's flag. The winner is the "True American".
