10 Current WWE Wrestlers Most Likely To Leave For AEW

A third member of this list that has been booked poorly since coming to the main roster from NXT, Chad Gable has had an unfortunate time after being called up.

A decent storyline alongside Jason Jordan as 'American Alpha' seemed to be the catalyst for a successful main roster career for both superstars, but it was not meant to be. The revelation that Jason Jordan is (in kayfabe) Kurt Angle's illegitimate son left Gable stranded on SmackDown without a purpose.

Since then, Chad Gable has been under-utilised and put into several unnecessary programs, including teaming with Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Roode. During this time, Gable ultimately gained himself one forgettable Raw Tag Team Championship reign, before being drafted back to SmackDown after losing the belts to The Revival.

The Superstar Shake-Up just one week after WrestleMania effectively split the team of Gable and Roode for good, leaving him without a story or any sign of an intriguing feud in the future.

Most recently, Gable has been seen on WWE TV being steamrolled by Lars Sullivan, which does not reflect the talent that he has. As a former Olympian, Gable is capable of having outstanding matches, including a stand-out performance against Kurt Angle on his farewell tour.

A move from Smackdown and from WWE altogether could refresh Gable's character, and allow him to showcase his truly impressive work ethic. By presenting Gable as a challenger to any future secondary titles that they introduce, AEW can push him higher and allow a wider audience to see his genuine talent.
