10 Deadly Spots That SHOULD Have Destroyed Wrestlers (...But Didn't)
1. Lita's Leg Drop Lands Right On Trish Stratus' Face... Without Doing Damage (WWE SmackDown 2000)
Before ultimately going on to make history in the main event of Monday Night Raw in 2004, eventual WWE Hall of Famers Lita and Trish Stratus collided on the June 15, 2000 episode of SmackDown.
Very literally.
After Stratus had managed to cost Matt & Jeff Hardy their contest against Test & Albert, Lita came to the aid of her Hardy Boyz and laid out her future nemesis as a set-up for a move off the ropes.
But with the two not having a chance to practise Lita's impressive moonsault on the day, Michael Hayes suggested perhaps going for a leg drop instead (via Sportskeeda).
However, the second she reached the turnbuckles on the night, she soon realised she had no clue how to actually deliver the move.
What came next was a gnarly connection as Lita's ass landed right on top of Stratus' face below.
It honestly looked like the future Women's Champion would have been lucky to walk out of the arena with only a broken nose to worry about. Remarkably, though, Lita eventually revealed that Stratus didn't suffer so much as a bruise from the worrying impact.
The pair were definitely lucky on this occasion. But had Lita's bottom landed in a slightly different position on the night, who knows whether her newbie rival would have opted to stick with this bizarre and rather dangerous wrasslin' business.
