During her rookie year, Trish had become embroiled in the dysfunctional world of the McMahon family. Starting an affair with the Chairman himself, Mr McMahon, Trish would go on to have a very memorable feud with Vince's daughter, Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley. Steph was angry that her father paraded Trish about with no remorse that he was till married to her mum, Linda. At the time, Linda had become institutionalised following Vince's demands for a divorce. Sat stoically in a wheelchair, Linda would be looked after by Trish who would wheel her around making no effort to conceal the affair. On an episode of Smackdown, Trish would wheel out the heavily medicated and highly sedated Linda in an uncomfortable segment that showcased what great heels both Vince and Trish were.
