10 Disappointing WrestleMania Matches That Should Have Been Classics
5. Triple H Vs. Brock Lesnar - WrestleMania XXIX
Brock Lesnar hasn't had much luck at WrestleMania, has he? He almost killed himself when he attempted a shooting star press in his first 'Mania appearance and every time he has performed on the main stage since he has had an underwhelming match. None have been as underwhelming as his match against Triple H at 'Mania 29, Lesnar's first WrestleMania match in nine years. While they may have been disappointing, at least the Goldberg match had train-wreck appeal and the Undertaker outing featured a defining moment. Lesnar's match against The Game had nothing going for it. They had a strong storyline, a stipulation (street fight) and a lot of time (almost 25 minutes). But they didn't deliver. They tried to assemble an epic but the fans didn't bite until right until the end. So what exactly happened? There was nothing technically wrong with the storytelling or execution but something was definitely missing. Perhaps it was heart. Triple H and Lesnar had to follow the excellent CM Punk/Undertaker match, which can't have helped. WWE had also tried to portray Triple H as an underdog, something that few fans bought. The upshot was that their match was boring and had no heat.
