10 Dream Opponents For CM Punk In WWE

6. Kevin Owens

Recent reports suggest that Punk toyed with the idea of leaving AEW in late-2022 then pitching a grand return during the 2023 Royal Rumble match. There, Jungle Boy's favourite wrestler would've been eliminated by Kevin Owens to set up a clash on the grand stage at WrestleMania 39.

That didn't happen, obviously, but there's nothing stopping it from going down in 2024. Why not? Punk likely still has some legal stuff to sort out on the All Elite side before returning to the ring anyway, so a Rumble berth in January isn't out of the question. Also, KO just lost the Undisputed Tag Titles alongside on/off pal Sami Zayn, so he'd be free come 'Mania season.

Unless WWE fancies booking another Kev vs. Sami match, that is.

Creative could always get to Punk vs. Owens down the road even if that was a locked in plan for WrestleMania. This is the sort of bout some figured could happen if KO jumped to AEW, but now it looks more plausible on the WWE side.

Also, again, Punk and Owens do not get along in real life -
